Stephania Adler

Stephania Adler uses various mediums to achieve her ultimate goal: to capture the spirit of the subject, often one who does not exist in the land of the living.

How would you describe your style?

My style is relatively realistic, sometimes surreal.  I try to focus on the spirit of the subject which I am depicting.

What subjects do you enjoy working on?

My favorite subject to depict is, oddly enough, people who have passed away (shown being alive in whatever form is requested) because it helps those who are grieving to heal.  Anything that touches the soul (animals, cultures, religions, etc.)

What medium(s) do you work in?

Graphite, black and white charcoal, acrylic paints, and colored pencil.  I will be delving into oil painting in the near future! I am very excited!

How has your process evolved?

I used to only draw in graphite, but over time, people wanted me to create pieces for them that were outside of my comfort zone.  I love to be challenged and love to make people happy, so I tried new mediums and styles, and it worked out!

What got you started creating art?

Art is just who I am.  I don’t remember getting started.  Probably the moment I held my first crayon, and ever since I’ve had an emotional connection with my art supplies.

What artists influence your work?

The Universe is the greatest artist. I am forever inspired by the artistry of our world and that which lies beyond.
